Hi, I'm Ashley Whitmer, Licensed Master Esthetician and founder of Storybook Skin. My path here didn't start in a spa. It started in a factory—long shifts, little sleep, and skin that showed the weight of it all. In those exhausting moments, I realized something: people don't just need treatments. They need a place to rest. A place where the focus isn't on fixing, but on finally breathing. That led me to Paul Mitchell, where I graduated with Honors and earned my 1,200+ hours as a Master Esthetician. I believe your skin tells your story—laugh lines, sun spots, tired eyes. None of it needs erasing. My job isn't to perfect you. It's to help you feel confident in the skin you're in, while gently addressing whatever concerns you bring through my door. All my facials use Circadia advanced skincare products, which are considered clinical-grade. How long will my appointment be? Your appointment begins at the scheduled time. We'll start with a 10-15 minute consultation. The time listed for the service is the duration of the hands-on portion of your treatment. What comes complimentary with my facial? All of our facials include a skin consultation and analysis under a Woods lamp, a signature arm and décolletage massage, and the use of hot towels. How should I dress for my facial? Come as you are! For facial treatments, please be prepared to remove your shirt and bra (if applicable) and any jewelry from the chest up and arms, if possible. You will be fully draped and covered at all times, and your privacy is my utmost priority. If you have any concerns or special requests, please email me ahead of time so I can accommodate you. How do I book my monthly memberships facials? Under the facial membership category, then in the questionnaire it will ask you which service you are wanting. How should I dress for body treatments and waxing? For comfort, loose clothing that can be easily rolled up is ideal. If needed, sheets and privacy towel wraps are always available. What should I do with my personal belongings? Storage is available for your personal effects. For facial treatments, I kindly request that phones be put away to minimize distractions and allow you to fully enjoy your service. What if I have anxiety or am introverted? This is a place to relax first and foremost—this should not be a stressful or draining experience. I am passionate about helping you with your skin and understand that the process can be intimidating. If you would prefer a silent service, you can indicate this on your intake form, and I will keep talking to a minimum. I will still need to conduct a brief consultation, but instead of discussing products, home care, and next appointments during the service, I will email or message you my recommendations afterward, along with a link to book your next visit. After one workout, you don't suddenly have tons of muscle. Skincare is much the same. The services I provide are like focused, intensive workouts to energize your skin and get it moving in the right direction. A consistent home routine is essential for maintaining and building on those results between visits. Why should I buy packages? Much like a consistent home routine, some treatments compound on themselves over time. Purchasing a package allows you to commit to a series of treatments, which leads to more lasting and significant results. Should I leave a tip? Tips are always appreciated, but I truly understand that everyone's situation is different. If tipping isn't possible for you, the best way to show your support is by recommending me to a friend or leaving a review. That means the world to me! When do my discounts get applied? You'll pay at the end of your service, and I'll apply any eligible discounts at that time. Why do you ask personal or seemingly irrelevant questions on the intake form? They're more relevant than you might think! Your lifestyle, genetics, age, and health all play a role in how your skin behaves.
